Jacó Beach Nightlife
Playa de Jacó is the central Pacific's party town. There are tons of bars and several discos. The Disco La Central is packed every night of the high season and every weekend during the off season.
La Central is right on the beach near the south end of town. There's a huge open-air hall that features the requisite 1970s flashing lights and suspended mirrored ball, as well as a garden bar in a thatch-roofed building that's a slightly quieter place to have a drink.
The disco charges a nominal cover charge. For a more casual atmosphere, head to either the Beatle Bar, Nacho’s Daddy or Plankton Lounge. Those are located right on the main drag in town. Note: There's a fair amount of prostitution in Jacó. It's not uncommon to find working women at any of the above-mentioned places, as well as cruising other bars around town.
Club Ole - across the street from the former La Hacienda Bar plays classy salsa and merengue. Pancho Villa's - toward the southern end of town, across the street from Mexican Joe's.
After the other bars and discos close, a largely male crowd stumbles here for pricey grub and gambling. Ask you taxi driver to drop you in one of those. Everything else is a walk distance.
